Dominic Thiem announced his return to the court after a long-lasting injury


The Austrian tennis star Dominic Thiem informed the public that he would return to competitions soon. The first event since June 2021, when the athlete has injured his right wrist at the competitions in Mallorca, will be the tournament in the UAE.

His presence at Mubadala World Tennis Championship is the first public step to full recovery. The Austrian hopes to prepare for the Australian Open, which will be the first Grand Slam event in the middle of January 2022.

According to the latest updates, his wrist is alright. The training sessions with a soft ball showed good dynamics, so the Austrian turned to a hard ball.

The injury at the beginning of the summer dropped Thiem out of the top-10 rankings in November. Dominic has been in the elite list since 2016, so he hopes for a fast return.
