In the fight of prospects, Korda defeated Alcaraz in Monte Carlo


The round of 32 of the Masters in Monte Carlo came up with an interesting meeting between two young prospects – American Sebastian Korda and Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz Garfia.

The latter came to Monaco in the status of Maimi Masters winner. This success raised the Spaniard to the 11th position in the ATP rankings, while the American was only 42nd.

With windy conditions in Monte Carlo, the game turned out to be tough with plenty of footwork. Moreover, the first game on the clay court at the top level became a challenge for Alcaraz. With more than three hours on court and two tie-breaks, Korda claimed the victory over the younger talent (7:6[2], 6:7[5], 6:3).
