Muguruza and Kontaveit will play in the final of the WTA Final tournament


Garbine Muguruza and Anett Kontaveit reach the final of the WTA Finals in Guadalajara. In the semifinals, Muguruza defeated her compatriot Paula Badosa in two sets. Paula Badosa (Spain, 7) – Garbine Muguruza (Spain, 6) 0:2 (3:6, 3:6).

In the other semifinal, Kontaveit defeated Maria Sakkari in a quite longer battle that lasted for two hours. Anett Kontaveit (Estonia, 8) – Maria Sakkari (Greece, 4) 2:1 (6:1, 3:6, 6:3).

On Monday, Muguruza defeated Kontaveit in the final group round match. However, this match wasn’t important for the Estonian as she had already passed to playoffs before the match. In October, the Estonian knocked out the Spaniard in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Moscow. The game of the tournament will take place on Thursday 18 November.
