A defeat in this match means that the Ukrainian woman’s chances of reaching the Final Tournament have been seriously diminished. Now a lot will depend on competitors, and not on Elina herself. The next Ukrainian tournament will be the WTA 250 competition in Tenerife, where she will lead the seed. In the quarterfinals, Pegula will face Victoria Azarenko (32nd place in the WTA) or Alexandra Sasnovich (100th place in the WTA). Like this post? Was it helpful and interesting?
