Karolina Pliskova has the most experience among all the participants in the final tournament in Guadalajara. At the last three starts, the Czech tennis player has invariably overcome the group stage and completed the tournament path in the semifinals with the same stability.
On the eve of the start in Guadalajara, Pliskova had no practice in official tournaments for a month. Karolina played unsuccessfully in Indian Wells, losing sensationally in the third round to Haddad Maia (3-6, 5-7).
There were fears in the forecasts that in the first match in Mexico, the Czech woman would experience difficulties against Muguruza. In many ways, this happened, but in the decisive game, Karolina played more confidently (4-6, 6-2, 7-6). The fight could have ended faster, without a tie-break, but Pliskova did not use two match points when the score was 5-4.
Anett Kontaveit approached the start in Guadalajara in a great tone of the play. The Estonian tennis player fought to the last for a ticket to the final tournament, and after titles in Moscow and Cluj-Napoca qualified for Mexico. Today Anett’s winning streak is 11 matches.
At the start in Guadalajara, Kontaveit competed with the representative of the Czech Republic, Barbora Krejcikova. There was a noticeable advantage of the Estonian athlete during the game, which was reflected in the final numbers on the scoreboard (6-3, 6-4).
The key to Anett’s success in the first match was a more stable game and a small number of unforced errors. Barbora was originally aimed at aggressive attacking tennis. But the playing form of the Czech woman did not allow her to act flawlessly with such a style of play – 34 unforced errors. For comparison: Kontaveit had 16 errors in two sets. We also note that the Estonian not only never gave up her serve but did not allow her opponent to have even one breakpoint.
Anett Kontaveit has a winning streak of 11 matches and was very confident in her first fight in Guadalajara. Pliskova barely snatched the victory from Muguruza at the start of the competition. At the same time, the Czech tennis player has a huge experience of participation in final tournaments and an advantage in personal meetings. All three head-to-head fights ended with Czech victories.

We expect that Anett will not get an easy walk, and Karolina will keep the positive handicap in games, which the bookmakers set. Still, it is not easy to accept Pliskova’s serve, and even more so to take breaks.
Our prediction is that Pliskova will win with a handicap (+4) of the game for the odds of 1.68. In the last two personal meetings, athletes played at least 21 games. We do not think that the upcoming meeting in Guadalajara will end very quickly, and we also offer a prediction for the total of more games played. The second bet – total over 21 games in 1.80.
