The group stage of the Davis Cup came to an end, and eight teams went to the quarterfinals. The top places of six groups booked the needed spot without any additional calculations, while the two best second places needed to count the difference of the game.
The undoubtful ticket to quarters saved Russia, Kazakhstan, the UK, Croatia, Italy, and Germany, in respective groups from A to F. The strongest second places due to games difference were gained by Serbia (from group F) and Sweden (from group B).
The quarterfinal round starts on November 30. The pairs on this stage are Russia – Sweden, the UK – Germany, Italy – Croatia, and Serbia – Kazakhstan. The winner of the first pair will face the stronger team from the second duel, while another semifinal will be between the third and fourth matchup winner.
