Rublev: “Wimbledon was offered to give a prize for humanitarian aid by Russian and Belarusian players”

The Russian tennis player and recent fifth racket of the world by ATP, Andrey Rublev, came up with comments concerning Wimbledon’s ban of the Russian and Belarusian athletes at the event.

Thus, the player also offered his view on problem resolving. According to Rublev, he talked with other players that now are forbidden to visit London’s event, and they all agreed to give all the prize money for good clauses and humanitarian help for Ukraine.

In this way, Andrey sees the resolving of the conflict between Wimbledon and athletes from countries-aggressors. He also admitted that such a decision might lead to about a million dollars in prizes that could be given to people who suffered from the war. Such a sum can be among the biggest ones that came from the sport for humanitarian needs.

Earlier, Wimbledon organisers decided to close the doors of their competition for the tennis players from Belarus and Russia, while ATP and WTA organisations condemned such a decision.
