Swiatek has secured WTA’s top spot being 20 years old


Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek easily defeated Switzerland’s Viktorija Golubic in the second round of the WTA 1000 category in Miami (6:2, 6:0).

Thus, the 20-year-old athlete secured the prestigious spot of the world’s first racket after the tournament.

Swiatek became the first Polish woman to submit to this achievement. Among the current tennis players, only Kim Clijsters and Serena Williams rose to the top of the world rankings at an earlier age.
