WTA published calendar for the first half of 2022 – until Wimbledon

The schedule of the Women’s Tennis Association tournaments for the first six months of next year has been revealed.

The new season starts on January 3 with the WTA-500 hard tournament in Adelaide, Australia.

This will be followed by:

  • January 4-9, 2022 – two WTA-250 tournaments in Melbourne
  • January 10-15 – Sydney (WTA-500) & Adelaide (WTA-250)
  • January 17-30 – Australian Open
  • February 7-13 – St. Petersburg (WTA-500)
  • February 14-19 – Dubai (WTA-500)
  • February 20-26 – Doha (WTA-1000)
  • February 21-27 – Guadalajara (WTA-250)
  • February 28 – March 6 – Lyon, France (WTA-250), Monterrey (WTA-250)
  • March 9-20 – Indian Wells (WTA-1000)
  • March 22 – April 3 – Miami (WTA-1000)

In April, the main event goes to the clay courts, with a Grand Slam event as the final point:

  • April 4-10 – Charleston (WTA-500), Bogota ((WTA-250)
  • April 18-24 – Stuttgart (WTA-500), Istanbul (WTA-250)
  • April 28 – May 7 – Madrid (WTA-1000)
  • May 9-15 – Rome (WTA-1000)
  • May 15-21 – Strasbourg (WTA-250), Rabat (WTA-250), Cologne (WTA-250)
  • May 22 – June 5 Roland Garros

The season on grass courts will start on June 6th, with another Grand Slam final event:

  • June 6-12 – ‘Hertogenbosch (WTA-250), Nottingham (WTA-250)
  • June 13-19 – Berlin (WTA-500), Birmingham (WTA-250)
  • June 19-25 – Bad Homburg (WTA-250), Eastbourne (WTA-500)
  • June 27 – July 9 – Wimbledon
